SmartStart for Kids!
SmartStart for Kids! is a ‘not for profit’ program that measures and reports on the health and fitness characteristics of children. The program is designed to profile risk, monitor changes in health, promote good health behaviours and practices, and encourage appropriate self-responsibility in children, their parents, and schools so as to improve health and fitness outcomes.
Since 1999, we have conducted our program to over 70 schools in the ACT, NSW, Queensland and South Australia with about 40,000 students having participated.
We have recently finished a Commonwealth funded evaluation and found over 90% of participants enjoyed being involved, having their weight measured was not a concern and over 70% believed it even helped them perform better in their class activities.
We have a large range of school resource activity planners and kits, and a range of charts and statistical information to assist teachers and parents.
