Rob de Castella started SmartStart in 1999 drawing on all his vast experience and networks to develop a service that achieves significant improvements in health, fitness and wellbeing. Targeted initially at helping unfit and overweight children, SmartStart for Kids! has now conducted tens of thousands of assessments with children aged from 4 to 18 years, compiling one of the largest longitudinal databases on children’s physical health.

In 2004 SmartStart for Life! was launched to assist adults and companies interested in improving their health, fitness and well-being. Since then we have worked all around Australia and overseas with employees at all levels, conducting and assisting in the design and delivery of confidential assessments and effective programs.
